Dear Parents:
Greetings! My name is Gregory M. Proffit and I’ll be the new Principal at McPolin Elementary, August 1, 2012.
I’m so excited to join the McPolin School Community this year! This is my 25th year of service in public schools. I’ve graduated from Evanston High (WY), The University of Wyoming at Laramie, The University of Texas at Austin, and I currently have my doctoral dissertation in progress at Utah State University in Logan.
I taught Reading and Reading Improvement in Brownsville TX , and Reading and Social Studies in Austin TX. I’ve served as Assistant Principal, Principal, and District Administrator in the Austin Independent School District and for the past 15 years in the Park City School District. I love kids, teachers, and schools.
My wife Jill is a Science teacher at Treasure Mountain Jr. High and my sons Adam and Bridger attend Park City High and Treasure Mountain. I enjoy reading, riding, teaching, learning, singing, swimming, hiking, motivation & organizational theory, problem-solving, principled-decision making and hobby farming. (Truly, I’m fascinated by all the facets of our complex modern life!)
I look forward to getting to know your children and to meeting with you personally. Please make an appointment with the office to chat, or feel free to stop by school during my weekly drop in time, Fridays, 3:00. Onward into a great school year!
